Support for Office 2007

FYI - I ran some abbreviated Vista tests over the weekend and did not run into the problems that ekyk2001 reports. On my vanilla setup there appears to be no security issues.

ekyk2001 - it appears that there's something unique to your environment (added security?) that's keeping CC from installing or it could be that the initial installation was corrupted and causing the issue. If you'll send me an email directly, I've got one thing for you to try that might help.

FYI - I received this from a customer installing CC v2.0.5 on Vista:

Using an ordinary user account you will be asked to raise your privilege level for installation (UAC kicking in). The setup will complete successfully however the CC config wizard won’t run when you start O2007. I had to manually at my user account as a local admin, re-run the setup before the wizard would show up.

I am noting and will continue to investigate on our end.

Reinstalling CC as an administrator solved this issue.

The biggest issue with CC / Outlook 2007 is the performance. My Outlook 2007 has been crawling, not just CC specific tasks but overall Outlook 2007 performance.

I decided to unintall CC today and my Outlook 2007 is actually usable right now.

Something you would need to look into.

I hate to say it, but I'm having the same issue. Not only is filing messages slow, but Outlook 2007 itself runs VERY slowly at times, but only on the system that I've also got CC installed on. So far, though, I'm keeping CC installed. The performance is an issue, but I depend too much on CC to get rid of it.

We are making a great deal of performance enhancements for the "Made for 2007" release, which will hopefully take care of this and other performance related issues in the software. I should have a test build available within a couple of months, so bear with us and we'll have something soon.

Curious - are both machines hitting an Exchange server, or is one on POP and one on Exchange?

I know you all are hard at work on it and I'm totally confident that you'll resolve the issue. Both of my machines (all of mine, really) are hitting Exchange servers. I no longer use POP at all.

Sadly, I had to give in andpull CC from my ssytem as well. While I can't really live without it these days the performance impact on Outlook 2007 was just so bad I coudln;t even use my email.

The only thing worse than no CC is no email at all.

Please, please try an interim fix for the version you have now (no new features) that solves the performance problem - just to tide us over!

have been using Outlook 2007 with CC for a few days and one of the things that I'm seeing is that...after a while, even though CC is running, it stops interacting with the messages in the inbox. For example, I cant categorize or file topic.

The fix is to restart outlook.

I've been seeing this behavior as well with Outlook 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh. I haven't been able to pin down the steps to reproduce it. Other add-ins I use include Tablet Enhancements for Outlook 3.0 and Plaxo.

In Outlook 2007, if you perform a search on All Mail Items, the ClearContext toolbars become disabled. To re-enable, restart OR perform a local search, then click on the Inbox. This should be fixed by a future Office 2007 release.
