ClearContext v 3.0.4 causes Outlook 2003 SP2 to crash

Postby dmminch » Tue Oct 24, 2006 4:37 pm

Outlook crashes when adding a new topic to an email about to be sent. If the topic exists then all is fine, it only happens when the topic is a new one. This is reproducible.

- Windows XP SP2 and all updates
- Outlook 2003 SP2 and all updates
- using exchange server and POP3.
- No additional outlook add-ins
- Steps:
1. Create new email.
2. Send email.
3. In the topic dialog, type a new topic name.
4. OK the topic.
5. It should crash.

- Fatal, in my opinion - although no data loss.

Have you changed the configuration of your Topic Folders location? If so, to where? See ClearContext > Options > Configuration.

Please send your clearcontext.log file to support at clearcontext dot com. It's located here:

C:\Documents and Settings\{USER NAME}\Local Settings\Application Data\ClearContext\ClearContext Information Management System\Logs, where {USER NAME} is the local user name that you use to log onto the computer.

If you don't see the Application Data folder, you may need to go to Tools->Folder Options->View->Show Hidden Files and Folders and enable the display of hidden files and folders.

Thanks.
