Create Regex Failed

Postby ClearContext Support » Tue Feb 03, 2009 4:58 am

The error message below indicates that a core Windows component that ClearContext relies on is either missing or corrupt:

SEVERE_ERROR: (OUTLOOK, .\Managers\ThreadManager.cpp, 128)
Initialize: create regex failed
HRESULT = 80040154

If a reboot doesn't fix the problem, try the following:

  1. Open a command prompt:
    • XP: Click Start > Run, type "cmd" in the Run bar and click enter
    • Vista: Click the Windows key, type "cmd", right click cmd.exe in the Programs List, select Run As Administrator and enter Admin credentials when asked
  2. At the command prompt, type "cd \windows\system32" and press enter. (If using a 64bit version of windows, type "cd \windows\syswow64" instead).
  3. Type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll" and press enter.
