Install fails:"ccims.exe is not a valid Win32 applicati

Postby sbohanno » Thu May 03, 2007 8:35 am

After downloading or opening directly the CMIMS file, I recieve the "ccims.exe is not a valid Win32 application" error message. I have downloaded repeated versions from ClearContext as well as from two different Download.com websites. I've also deleted the file and cleared my download cache repeated (per another forum posting).

Is there another way to obtain the EXE file?

Thank you,

Scott

Brad -- thank you, but unfortunately, I still receive the same error.

Very strange. It appears that either your native Windows installer is corrupted or some other process is blocking this from running. Try copying ccims.exe to c:\ and running it from there - does that make a difference?

Brad -- I actually tried that previously (c-drive) and just tried it again, but no dice. I have installed other applications recently, so it doesn't seem that the installer is broken. I will keep thinking on my end, but if you have any other ideas, I would be grateful!

I use ClearContext on my laptop and not having it on my desktop creates some strange changes from home to office.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. When I download the file is only 312kb in size and gives the same warning. I have tried running and downloading/running.

I'm running XP with the latest patches etc and installing for Outlook 2007.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Clear your browser cache and re-download again or download from the link in my second post above.

Thanks - I think I may have restarted and the next time I tried, all was well.
