Maintaining position of "Attachments" view

Hello. I am running 4.5.1 Pro on XP system with OL 2007. I prefer to have a view, L-R, whereby my email folders are on the far left, my email messages (rows/columns) are next, then my Attachments view with OL's TO-Do and Tasks view are on the far right. For some reason, the Attachments view appears to randomly move from being just where I want it to be, to being BELOW the email messages. I can't seem to make it stay in one place. What am I doing wrong?

Are you referring to the FolderContext? FolderContext is automatically placed at the bottom of the messages list when using the Outlook preview pane on the right and to the right of the messages list when the preview pane is off or at the bottom. Is this the behavior you are seeing?

Yes, "Folder Context" view. I'd like it to stay fixed to the right of my lists of email messages (date, subject, etc.) I open email by clicking on the subject in the row. The message then occupies my entire screen. I do not believe I am using, at least what I think of of as, a Preview Pane. i.e. highlighting the message does NOT give me a view of my email without my fuly opening the message. WHere is the Preview Pane option?

Thanks. My "Reading Pane" is, and always has been, turned off, yet my "Folder Contaxt" view contines to move around. ANy other possible reasons for this behavior?

Now that I'm paying closer attention to this, I've observed the following: I needed to look at my "Sent Items" folder and when I did so a Reading Pane DID appear, even though the menu item for Reading Pane is grayed out. When I returned to my Inbox, the Folder Context view was now at the bottom, where I don't want it. However, by switching to my Calendar view and then back to my Email view, Folder Context returned to the right side vertical view where I do want it. This is an acceptable workaround, but I'd like to make my preferred view "stick" if at all possible.
