Missing tab on Outlook

Postby Kennyw » Mon Jul 27, 2009 12:35 pm

Evaluating the demo.
When I open up a contact, the first tab "contact" is missing.
I have only "insert" and "format text"
Any idea on how to turn it back on?
I can get it on by disabling ClearContext in the add ins. But when I restart Outlook ClearContext enables itself and same issue shows up. This appears to be a excellent concept for Outlook and I would really like to have issue resolved, so I can use it. New to your forum any help would be appreciated.

Are you running another add-in in Outlook? Try disabling and see if the issue is resolved. Please let me know what you find.

I am also running Aladdins Envelope & Lables 6.5 and Aladdins Office Documents 4.5.
If I turn them, ClearContext works just fine. So there is a conflict. Any ideas?
Thanks for the quick response.

It appears that there is some conflict between the two apps. Do you require the Aladdin add-ins on a daily basis? If not, I suggest leaving them disable and only enabling when needed.

Also, go to Tools > Options > Advanced Options and check "Show add-in user interface errors." Restart Outlook and see if it reports the source of the error.

OK here is what I got with both enabled.

Customer UI Runtime Error in ClearContext

It sounds like one of the Aladdin add-ins is not inserting their ribbon functions on the contact record in a way that plays well with others. I suggest you disable and\or contact Aladdin to further investigate the issue.

Thanks I'll give them a shout.
This question is off topic. But here I am anyway.
Is there a way to create topics without inbox folder?
I'm new, it appears that this program ties everything to email, but I'm more of tie everything to task type guy.

Topics are tied to folders. There is not a way to assign a Topic without creating a folder. You can change the location of these folders if you want. Details in our User Guide.
