Timeline for Versions 5.1 and 5.2?

Postby dgorecki » Sat Jan 09, 2010 1:25 pm

My apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere, but I've only seen WHAT is coming in 5.1 and 5.2, but not WHEN.

Unfortunately, I'm one of your users who is not finding V5 useful as I used many of the features that have been dropped. Deciding what I do next is really dependent on how long it will take before 5.1 and 5.2 is ready to go.

Features that are really important for me:

1. Enhanced email prioritization, especially wrt lowering the priority of emails I have been cc'd on vs to: (as stated by many users)

2. Alerts. A big time waster for me is repeatedly looking to see if there is any movement on a particular thread or looking to see if someone important sent me an email. I like being able to work in another application and being alerted via a pop-up. HUGE time saver for me.

3. Project Management. Enhanced project management capabilities has been promised for quite a long time now, and I have made due with what is there. V4 wasn't there yet, but I'm hoping V5.1 has some good tools.

Thanks in advance for the reply. I've been a very happy user of this product for a long time (I think I'm one of the first users), and would like to continue using it.

Cheers
David

David,

We hope to have an alpha version of 5.1 available by late February. We're not yet at the point where we can provide more detail on what the exact feature set and timeline will be beyond what we've already written about.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to work on alerts functionality for the 5.1 release. We'll provide more details on both 5.1 and 5.2 timing and plans as we get closer to 5.1 release.

Perhaps this would be a silly question, but where can I find (if already published) the new planned functionalities to be included on the versions 5.1 and 5.2?
Thanks
Fernando

Hi,

I am a registered user of v4. You are offering us an update to v5 at a special price. On the purchase page, it says that you are entitle to a free update and support for 90 days.

My understanding of previous posts regarding upgrade offer to v4 users is that we will be entitled to a free v5.1 and v5.2 updates (without a time limit). Can you confirm what the update to v5 for v4 users includes for futur update?

Thanks,

Gaetan

Since we are (hopefully) getting close, is there any chance you guys could share a screenshot of what the new v5.1 Dashboard will look like? ...and are you going to go through a beta cycle?

Thanks for your enthusiasm. There will be a v5.1 beta. Watch our blog for future announcements about v5.1 features and testing. We will share information there as it's available.

This is my fault, sorry. We've had a few items in testing that we really, really want to include in 5.1, but we are still not absolutely sure whether or not a couple of those items will make it through based on our internal standards for features making it into the final release. We don't want to set any expectations about features that we can't live up to in the release.

Having said that, we owe everyone an update on the progress and timeline. I'm working on that post right now and plan to have it up by tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for your patience. We are incredibly excited about the 5.1 release and can't wait to share it with you.

I am wondering the same thing about new releases. I've a lifetime membership for ClearContext and love it, but the removal of features and lack of visible progress or alpha testing is disappointing. An update certainly would be helpful.
