ZoneAlarm Ver 8 crashes IMS 4 & Outlook 2007

Shortly after upgrading to ZA 8 and doing a "clean install", clicking on "Business Contacts" in my Outlook 2007 w BCM threw the message "Outlook needs to close". When reloading, Outlook threw message "ClearContext caused a serious problem recently - want to disable the add-in?"

Uninstalling ZA 8 and reinstalling the last good release of 7 has everything working together peacefully again. Just FYI regarding my own experience. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. We're not seeing this problem in our labs. Can you please give me some additional information so that we can try and replicate?

  • Did you try to start up Outlook more than once with ClearContext and ZoneAlarm 8 installed?
  • Which ZoneAlarm product did you install?
  • What version of Windows are you running?
  • How do you access email? (POP? Exchange?)
  • What other add-ins do you use in Outlook?
