Contact as a Project

Postby tony.prescott » Wed Dec 09, 2009 2:12 pm

At some point in the past, one of your users indicated that she set up each project as a contact and then linked it to a topic. I'm trying to do this in 5.0RC3. However, I can't find a way to assign a topic (category) to the contact without sending an email to the contact which is not possible. The standard contact categories are visible but the specially created project categories [project/subproject] are not visible in the categories dropdown. Creation of a contact for each project provides an easy way to list projects and also provides a place for general descriptions about the desired outcomes, managers, etc.
Thanks,
Tony

Tony -
There is a popular method for using contacts as projects with the built in "activities" search function in Outlook. This would be separate from ClearContext, kind of a poor man's ClearContext really. I'm not sure there is a way to link these "projects" to a ClearContext project/topic however. If there is a way, I'd be interested in how to do it.
