Clearcontext stopped working after updgrading to 5.1

Postby xeon1900 » Fri Jul 02, 2010 12:25 am

Hi,

After upgrading to CC 5.1 version the addin stopped working. When Outlook starts it shows a "Custom form cannot be loaded" message and Outlook closes. I'm using Outlook 2010 under Windows XP.

While trying to resolve the issue I would like to temporarily downgrade to 5.0.2 version but I cannot find the link to download it and I don't have it anymore in my computer. How could I get the older version?

Regards,
Alberto

Try deleting your custom forms and clearing your forms cache:

1. Close Outlook and Uninstall ClearContext
2. Open Outlook and Go to File > Options > Advanced and press the Custom Forms button about halfway down the page
3. Take a screen print of this dialog to send me
4. Press the Manage Forms button
5. Take a screen print of this dialog to send me
6. Assuming you aren’t using them, delete any custom forms listed
7. Press the Clear Cache button
8. Exit Outlook
9. Delete all the Form Cache Files and folders (frmcache.dat), located here:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\ Microsoft\FORMS
10. Reinstall ClearContext
11. Open Outlook

If that doesn't fix it, send us an email at support at clearcontext dot com and we'll take a closer look. Thanks.

Hi,

I've proceeded as you suggested removing the forms cache but the problem still persisted so I kept trying to isolate the issue and I think I've found a way to make CC 5.1 working. I've unchecked the "Use Cached Exchange Mode" and the problem seems to have gone away, however, I don't think this is a good solution in the long term. Is there any way to clear the custom forms in the Exchange Server? (I don't know if this is the problem, but the error message points in that direction)

Regards,
Alberto

This indicates that the problem is in your local copy of your mail file. Try creating a new profile in Cached Exchange mode and see if that resolves the issue.

I had this problem but after using 5.1 for quite a while, but just recently switching to Outlook 2010.

I didn't want to create a new profile so I ran scanpst to repair my outlook.ost and other pst folders. I also deleted forms cache, uninstalled clearcontext and reinstalled it. This seemed to work. What a pain though...

Happened again just now. Not sure I can keep using Clearcontext with Outlook 2010.

Seemed to occur when changing a recurring meeting with invitees that has exceptions.

Create a new profile. It should be a much easier process than what you tried earlier.
